Winter at Stormy

We had a free weekend in February and the kids all wanted to go up to Stormy. My parents joined us and it was a rare and beautiful weekend for this past winter (since it was so stinkin' cold this winter!) We got up early to watch the USA vs Canada men's hockey game....and this was how these four stood the entire time.
Probably the only time in their life they'll be doing the skeleton
Beautiful sparkling snow across the lake--never ceases to amaze me that in the summer, this is where we swim and ski and sail and boat but in the winter, we can walk right across!
Matt got us both cross country skis for an early birthday gift for me and we had so much fun skiing around the lake! It's such a great workout and I'm always more pleasant when I can get a workout in.
Digging tunnels, sledding, building snowmen and playing in the snow
The kids loved being tossed into the snow by Matt---I'm quite sure this was Sadie's last year! Both her and Wyatt are so tall that it's almost impossible to do anymore.
Wyatt and Nani venturing out with Cali
Nani and the kids had fun writing stuff in the snow
playing catch with a snowball
Sadie and Nani's artwork---they used chunks of snow to write everyone's names and messages
It was a beautiful weekend in the great northern outdoors with warmer temps and blue skies.
