A few things I took pictures of that, at the time, didn't seem all that note-worthy. But someday (if I ever read all these books I'm making) it will remind me of what our days looked like.
This sight--my morning drop off at New Life--on Wednesdays when Blake went to Mom's Day Away. It was such a blessing to be able to take our next door neighbor Nate as well as their foreign exchange student JungWoo. The kids learned a lot from JungWoo about South Korea and what it would be like to live in a different country. And Nate and JungWoo always looked out for the kids--something I was so thankful for.
Blake is obsessed with gear--ski gear, hockey gear, baseball gear, etc. Naturally then, he was most intrigued by goalie pads. Wyatt's friend Dylan was the goalie for his hockey team and he and Wyatt would play knee hockey in Dylan's basement for hours on end. Blake wanted so badly to go over to Dylan's and wear his goalie pads and would cry every time Wyatt got to. So finally, the big day came and Dylan invited Blake over as well--he was elated!!
There were lots of big snowfalls this winter! The kids could stand on top of the snow piles and be just as tall as the basketball hoop! I didn't get a picture, but they had so much fun 'dunking' the basketball from the snow piles!
The massive amount of snow we got this winter was lots of fun but also caused some major headaches for our rink. The edges of the rink had snow piles higher than the boards, so shoveling the rink became ineffective as the snow would just fall right back in. We needed to get the snowblower down to the rink so that we could blow the snow farther away. We were able to do that successfully but Matt got stuck trying to get the snowblower back into our garage. This was quite a hilarious sight and I'm sure our neighbors were all laughing inside.
Rainbow looms--all the rage in 3rd grade. This picture reminds me of the jelly bracelet craze from when I was a kid.
Blake, once again, taking a nap wherever he could find a spot (even if that meant in the middle of the floor in the office)
And Blake's preferred position to play 'gofish'
