With Blake being the third child, there are many times when he does something for the first time but it isn't noticed because, well, it isn't new to any of us. This, however, was not one of those cases. Blake got to go to his first Twins game and I think Wyatt and Sadie were even more excited for him than he was. We never took him last year or the year before because, well frankly, none of us would have enjoyed the game. But we thought this year we would give it a try. The game was on a Monday night and Wyatt had a baseball game at 5:30 and then we booked it over to Minneapolis for the Twins game at 7:10. The kids were so excited....
Wyatt is such a protective big brother and led Blake by the hand throughout the stadium until we got to our seats, stopping along the way to kneel down and point things out to him.
Blake was actually more into the game than either Wyatt or Sadie at times...he was so focused. I think he also realized that if he did well at this game, the opportunities to do more 'big kid' things would increase as well! Smart kid--I'll take it!
The highly-anticipated ice-cream helmet!!
As you can see in the next three pictures, Blake loves to rest his hand on people when he is near them. I think it makes him feel safer.
On a side note:Sadie recently learned how to do the monkey bars all by herself and goes over the park any chance she gets to perfect her skills. But the result has been some nasty blisters. She is laying off the bars until my parents come in to town for Mother's Day weekend so that hopefully she will be healed enough to show them her latest accomplishment. She does point out to everyone that her hands look just like Jesus' did....not sure what to do with that.
The Twins' newest fan!!!
