Sadie had her final dance class of the year this spring and they let the parents come in (usually we aren't allowed in the room during class). Sadie loved having us in there to watch her and the boys marveled at what a great dancer she really is.
She definitely understands the connecting of 'posing'.
Sadie had a great year in dance but she did miss the studio we left last year. She really loved getting to do tap as well as ballet and has been asking if we can return. Matt and I both agree (not in front of her, of course) that her former studio had some really talented teachers as well as kids and the level of dance is quite different. Ugh---I had thought we solved the dilemma by switching studios. But she really loves dance and her former studio was definitely a 'dancer's studio', for girls that dance as their primary activity. The 'dance world' is unchartered territory for both Matt and I and brings with it certain concerns and questions. Yet there is no denying that God made our daughter a dancer....just this morning she stood in front of my full-length mirror and turned the music up loud and danced for over 1/2 an hour. The girl loves it and we don't want to stifle it......oh man, parenting can be so hard!
We have some decisions to make this summer about where she'll be dancing next year, but we know she'll be dancing somewhere! You can't take the dance out of this girl--and that's a beautiful thing!
