Back to reality

We got back from our trip late on a Thursday night, so I didn't make Wyatt go to school (and thank goodness because the kids all slept over 2 hours that afternoon). Sadie went to school for grandparents/parents day and was so excited to have Matt there while she sang and did their program. (She was, however, yawning the entire time!)

On Saturday we were back to hockey...with a special surprise!!!
Yep, that's Nordy (the Minnesota WILD mascot)
He skated and did drills with the kids the entire practice. He was quite enthusiastic and even fun for us parents to watch.
I took this with my phone when he came over to say hi to Blake

(Wyatt is just to the right of Nordy in the blue socks)
Wyatt is always a very good listener at practice and having Nordy there didn't change that one bit. I took this picture because Nordy was sitting right next to Wyatt but he kept on listening to his coach--so focused!
Nordy played goalie for awhile and Wyatt was so excited when he scored on him (notice the stick raised in celebration)

Picture time with the team

Can you tell we just got back from Disney? Blake was so used to hugging all the characters that Nordy was no different!

And when Nordy went to sit down and sign autographs, Blake made himself quite comfortable next to him.

He became his 'helper' and handed him a picture to sign when kids came up. It was funny to watch as other kids seemed to wonder, "Why does he get to sit there?"
Wyatt getting his picture and stick signed by Nordy.
What a fun experience this was for the kids!
