Each night we ate dinner as one big group...we rotated houses (Mom and Dad's, ours and then Trish's--she rented two for her kids and grandkids) and the home that hosted was responsible for the meal that evening. It was great because on the night we hosted we had a lot of work to do, but then we were 'off' the other nights. I took a few pictures of everyone the night we hosted.....
The buffet line...
After dinner we took some family pics....
Grammy and her kids/grandkids/great grandkids (we were missing 13 people)
Trish and her kids and grandkids (minus her youngest, Collin, who had to work)
And our family..do you think Blake was sick of taking pictures yet?
We quickly cleaned up dinner and made our way to Kartway--an annual tradition started by the Smith Family cousins, way back when. Dad joined us for the first time in what he thought was at least 10 years if not longer (he was shocked by how much the prices had gone up over the years).
Britton and Matt scheming
The crew all set! (Notice Blake riding with his 'buddy Karsten')
Sadie was bummed that she still wasn't tall enough to drive her own, but it looked like this may be the last summer she has to ride along with someone...
My first Kartway injury....I actually had Blake with me and we were driving quite aggressively into a turn and got cut off. We both got a bit of whiplash but I thought we were fine. As I kept driving, I rubbed my shin because it was hurting so bad and noticed my hand was wet with blood!! It kept bleeding through my jeans and I couldn't believe it!
Sadie loved having younger cousins around, even if they were boys
(she'd prefer girls if she could pick!)
Then the older guys hit up the Nascarts...the really fast cars that Wyatt's hoping he'll be tall enough for next year!
These guys were pumped to all prove their manhood on the race track!
"A few tips...."
Ty, Matt, Britton, Karsten, Kyle, Grant and Dad
Sometime during this race my camera died so I didn't get any more pictures from our night at Kartway. But you can tell it was a blast and Kartway continues to be one of the things everyone looks most forward to. We only had one final day remaining at Stormy before everyone started heading home (translation--one final blog post from the Smith Family Reunion)
