When we came home, we were greeted in our driveway by our wonderful neighbors! And although we had a great time at Stormy, boy did we miss our neighbors...and it was nice to know they felt the same way! And despite the fact that we were only going to be home for 4 days before we went back for another two weeks, the kids soaked up as much time with friends as possible.

Blake's activity of choice these days...
And another thing Wyatt had been looking forward to doing when we got home....getting his Twins hat. After going to a game earlier this spring, he spotted this authentic MLB hat (just like the players wear) and asked Matt if he could get it. Matt gave the usual reply, "If you buy it with your own money"...this immediately prompted Wyatt to start mowing the lawn. Currently it's the only 'chore' he can earn money for doing, although I think we will be starting a regular allowance system this fall. But he gets $10 for mowing the lawn and after tithing and saving, he's left with $8. So it took some time but he finally had enough to buy the hat---$42 to be exact. Not only was he so excited to get it, but I love when my kids learn real-life lessons like money management and hard work. Wyatt is definitely our 'saver' and never wants to waste his money on little stuff. Sadie, on the other hand, gets moeny and starts looking for ways to spend it. If you asked her what she's saving her money for, she'd say, "snacks at Wyatt's hockey practices and stuff at the Target checkout"...oh boy!
A funny sidenote...when Wyatt brought the hat home, Matt was telling him how he used to wear his baseball cap curved and would even rubber band it around a ball to get the bill to curve more. Wyatt clearly thought this was the weirdest thing ever and we have heard him telling a number of friends, "Can you believe our dads used to wear their hats like that?!"
