After a relaxing week at home, we headed off yet again for some more family fun! We spent the weekend in Madison, celebrating my sister Mary Jo's birthday as well as soaking up the only time we would have my entire family together.
We met everyone at the Milwaukee Brewers game that afternoon for a tailgating/birthday party for MJ. It happened to be her actual birthday and she is a die-hard Brewers fan. And my whole family does enjoy the Brewers, but Rob is possibly the next biggest fan. He loves all sports and growing up in New Zealand, baseball had this iconic All-American pastime feel about it for him. So ever since he went to a Brewers game the first time he visited the states with Linds, he has become quite the fan--even following them online throughout their season. I was actually the only one in the group (other than my kids) who hadn't been to a game at the not-so-new-anymore Miller Park. And we didn't tell the kids we were going to a game until they all woke up from their naps in the car, for fear that they wouldn't nap if we told them. Needless to say, there was quite a bit of excitement about the game.
FUN TIMES!!
And my Dad had surprised MJ with putting her name up on the screen after the 2nd inning. He let us in on the secret just before it happened, so we were able to snap a picture. It was perfect because MJ just loved it!
The game started to get a bit long, as I think baseball games always do, so we had a bit of fun....I love this crazy family of ours!
Somehow Mary Jo escaped getting in a crazy picture----not sure how that happened!!
Such a fun night...I can't believe I don't have more pics of MJ since it was her birthday, but she was probably more into the game than any of us! After the game, we headed back to my parents and everyone crashed. We were all exhausted but what a great way to start off the weekend!
